Local Volunteering:

• Removal of invasive plant species; planting and establishing native species

• Food lifeline – volunteer hours and monthly donations

• Special Olympics - annual donations

Supporting Local Education:

• Huxley College of the Environment – in-class presentations on MTCA process and cooperative approach between Ecology and the regulated community

• UW College of the Environment – course development and instructor coordination for Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) training

Climate Impacts:

• Company carbon emissions calculated annually

• Company carbon emissions reduced by:

  • Travel is limited when possible

  • Electric vehicle purchased in 2022 for times when the truck is not required

  • Offices updated for energy efficiency by :

    Retrofit additional insulation

    Updated HVAC systems to energy efficient heat pumps

    Solar-generated power purchased through the utility

• Purchasing carbon offsets all company carbon emissions that are unable to be prevented are offset by purchasing Green-E Climate Certified Carbon Offsets, resulting in net zero carbon emissions associated with operations

• Coming in 2023: installing salvaged rooftop solar panels for the office!
